To bring the Bolt system to life, HCB turned to Oceanic Systems, seeking a solution that would combine sleek aesthetics, OEM integration, and the flexibility to support future growth.

The Collaboration: From Concept to Reality
HCB had already experimented with Oceanic’s smaller 7” platform and saw the potential. When the idea of a wide-format display emerged, they reached out to Oceanic to make it real.

Over several months, HCB and Oceanic worked in close partnership. Concepts, prototypes, and software iterations were shared rapidly, with Oceanic’s engineering team tailoring the Poseidon-powered display platform to match HCB’s specific requirements. The result was the 19” system display.
Display, optimised for the Bolt system and ready to serve as the vessel’s central control interface.
The Challenge: Beyond the Standard MFD
HCB’s vision was clear: they wanted a guided, simplified helm experience that would avoid the complexity often associated with modern multifunction displays (MFDs). While MFDs offer broad capability, they also introduce layers of menus and functions that can confuse users and increase support calls.
For HCB, the goal was to create a control interface that delivered only what was needed, at the right resolution, in the right format, every time. They required a display platform that could be:
